Dell Announces New Equallogic PS4000 and PS6000 Series
Dell has announced the release of two new models of Equallogic iSCSI Storage Arrays.
The PS4000 series was designed to address the needs of remote or branch offices, and small/medium business storage deployments. It's designed with the same virtualized architecture and software feature set, but at a very affordable entry point for smaller configurations. The PS 4000 series includes:
- PS4000E entry level
configuration with single or dual controllers and 8 or 16 - 250GB, 500GB
or 1TB/7200RPM SATA Drives
- PS4000X with cost
effective performance and capacity with dual controllers and 16 - 400GB
or 600GB/10,000RPM SAS drives
- PS4000XV for high performance and demanding remote office applications with dual controllers, and 16 - 300GB or 450GB/15,000RPM SAS drives
The enterprise class PS6000 series offers increased connectivity, improved performance, improved software features, along with solid state disk option.The PS 6000 series includes:
- PS6000E enterprise
performance with high capacity. Single or dual controllers wtih 8 or
16 - 250GB, 500GB or 1TB/7200RPM SATA Drives
- PS6500E high density
for huge capacity and scalabilty with dual controllers and 48 - 500GB
or 1TB/7,200RPM SATA drives
- PS6000X balance
of great performance and capacity for the enterprise with dual controllers,
and 16 - 400GB or 600GB/10,000RPM SAS drives
- PS6000X balance
of great performance and capacity for the enterprise with dual controllers,
and 16 - 400GB or 600GB/10,000RPM SAS drives
